Connor Kiernan

MECHANICAL and SOFTWARE ENGINEER

ABOUT ME

I'm a 21 year old student at Case Western Reserve University pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a double minor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. I'm heavily involved in the robotics team on campus because it gives me an opportunity to put the skills I'm learning into practice and it allows me to encourage that same passion and excitement in other young engineers.

What I'm working

on now

"To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time."

                           - Leonard Bernstein

Right now I'm splitting my time between two different robotics competitions with CWRUbotix: the NASA Robotic Mining Competition (NASA RMC) and the National Robotics Challenge (NRC).

For NASA RMC, I'm heading up the Structure Team, in charge of producing the chassis and electronics bay along with planning, routing, and securing all electronics to the rover.

For NRC, I'm leading the Piano-Bot team for the Challenge's first open-ended event. We're using our unique "taco-fingers" design attached to a rack and pinion to allow our small robot to reach an impressive range of notes.
